William Fisk, P.E.

William Fisk is senior staff scientist and department head, Indoor Environment Department, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, Calif.  A leading researcher in the indoor environment and environmental energy technology fields, he works to identify energy efficient means to maintain indoor air quality. Research activities include use of ultraviolet photocatalyic systems as an energy efficient way to control indoor volatile organic compounds. He designed and implemented the first substantial epidemiological study of the risk factors for sick building syndrome symptoms in U.S. office buildings. He also helped analyze the magnitude of productivity improvements and health-related cost savings that could be obtained if buildings had better indoor environmental quality.
