Srinivasan Sankaran

Srinivasan Sankaran is vice president, business development, Blue Star Ltd., Chennai, India. He has been the key person for Blue Star in installation of many commercial and industry projects, including the Vizag Steel Plant, which is the largest absorption chiller installation in India. It features acceptance of waste steam from blast furnace and from the captive power plant. He designed an air-conditioning system for mushroom cultivation requiring varying temperatures, humidity and carbon dioxide. This was the first major cultivation of button mushrooms through conditioned atmosphere in India. He also designed air conditioning for the largest indoor stadium in South India. Since the stadium is located in a high humidity area, fresh air load was substantial. To reduce the load, heat recovery wheels were used between return and fresh air, which reduced the load and energy cost.
