NEW ASHRAE FELLOW ELEVATED AT THE JAN 2006 MEETING

Gary L. Wingfield, P.E.

Gary Wingfield is mechanical project principal, The Haskell Co., Jacksonville, Fla. During the first manned launch to the moon, he worked as an engineer assigned to the environmental control system. He developed and performed test and checkout procedures, contributed to the writing of the countdown procedures and served in the command position for the launch. An early participant in energy conservation engineering, Wingfield worked with Automated Procedures for Engineering Consultants, where he led the effort to develop one of the earliest and most comprehensive building energy analysis computer software programs available at the time. The work set the standard for future efforts. He also served on the panel that wrote the building shell portion of ASHRAE’s first energy conservation standard, 90-75.
